SEO for physios that turns
injury searches into bookings.
Humming Web’s SEO for physios starts where patients start: with the sore back, the rolled ankle or the shoulder that won’t lift. We build condition pages, tune your Google Business Profile and connect online booking to your reports, with copy that respects the Physiotherapy Board’s rules on titles and claims.
Our SEO analyst will review your clinic and email the pages and fixes worth doing first.

Patients search for the injury,
then the clinic.
Physio searches come in three shapes: “near me” searches for a clinic, searches for a sport or injury, and city or suburb searches. “physiotherapy near me” leads at about 8,100 a month.
Single suburbs carry real demand: “physio richmond” matches “physiotherapy clinic near me” at 880 searches a month.
- AI answers back condition niches. Google’s AI Overview for “is SEO worth it for a physiotherapy clinic” says yes, names condition niches such as sports rehab and pelvic health, and gives 60 to 90 days for first local movement.
- Few explain the rule. The ranking agency pages all recommend condition pages. Few explain the Ahpra rule on how those pages must describe treatment.
| Search term | Shape | Monthly searches |
|---|---|---|
| physiotherapy near me | Clinic | 8,100 |
| physiotherapist | Clinic | 6,600 |
| sports physio | Sport or injury | 1,900 |
| sports physio near me | Sport or injury | 1,600 |
| physio adelaide | City | 1,600 |
| physiotherapy for back problems | Sport or injury | 1,300 |
| physio melbourne | City | 1,300 |
| physiotherapy clinic near me | Clinic | 880 |
| physio richmond | Suburb | 880 |
| back pain physio | Sport or injury | 390 |
| physio for lower back pain | Sport or injury | 320 |
What a physio condition page needs
to rank and stay compliant.
Most clinic sites list twenty conditions on one page. Patients and Google both reward one useful page per common problem, built like this.
- 1 Physio for Lower Back Pain in RichmondWho this page is for, in two sentences
- 2 How physiotherapy may helpAssessment, exercise, hands-on treatment, and why each is used
- 3 Your first appointmentLength, what happens, full fee
- 4 Sam Lee, physiotherapistRegistration, training, interests
- 5 Questions patients askRecovery, imaging, return to sport
- 6 Book onlineTracked as a booking
- 1Condition plus place in the heading. Matches searches like “physio for lower back pain” and a suburb, without stuffing.
- 2How treatment helps, explained. Ahpra expects condition lists to show how the treatment helps each condition, backed by acceptable evidence. A bare list of twenty problems doesn’t.
- 3Full fee and what happens. Advertised prices should be the total price. It also answers the question that stops people booking.
- 4A real practitioner box. Name, profession and registration build trust with patients and with Google’s quality systems.
- 5Answer-first FAQs. Short answers that AI Overviews can quote, written as information rather than promises.
- 6One booking action. Your online booking button, tracked so the report shows which condition pages fill the diary.

The Board rules that
change physio copy.
Three parts of the advertising rules come up on almost every physio website we review.
General information, not legal advice. From the Physiotherapy Board’s statement on the use of titles, Ahpra’s summary of the advertising requirements and its page on testimonials in health advertising. Your clinic approves final copy.
- No specialist registrationThe Physiotherapy Board says physiotherapy has no specialist registration, and words like “specialist”, “specialises in” or “specialised” are likely to mislead. The exception is the Specialist Physiotherapist credential from the Australian College of Physiotherapists, shown with its designation, such as FACP. So we write: “sports physiotherapy” and “a strong interest in running injuries”.
- Condition claims need the howIf you list conditions you treat or help, Ahpra says the advertising should make clear how the treatment helps each one, supported by acceptable evidence. So we write: one page per condition that explains the approach, instead of a long list of claims.
- Reviews, not testimonialsReviews that mention symptoms, treatment or outcomes can’t be used in your advertising. Comments about service can, if complete and unedited. You don’t have to remove reviews on sites you don’t control. So we set up: Google review requests, neutral replies, and no review widget on condition pages.

Measured as a conversion in GA4
Referred patients take a shorter path, but they still look up your reviews, location and hours before booking. Your report shows both routes: condition page visits for searchers, and branded searches and profile views for referrals. Slow booking pages lose people at the last step, so physio website SEO starts with our technical SEO services checking speed and booking tracking in Month 1.

Physio SEO questions.
Is SEO worth it for a physio clinic?
Yes, if people in your area search for the problems you treat and you can give it at least six months. It's less worth it when your books are full from referrals or you need new patients this week.
What does SEO for physios include?
SEO for physios includes condition and service pages, Google Business Profile management, practitioner and location pages, technical fixes, local links, review requests and monthly reporting on bookings. Each page is written within the board's rules on titles and claims.
How much does physio SEO cost in Australia?
Physio SEO is priced between $1,000 and $5,000 monthly at Humming Web. A single suburban clinic needs fewer condition and location pages, so it usually sits near the lower end. Groups with several clinics, or clinics in crowded inner-city suburbs, need more pages and local links. Local SEO starts from $780/month.
How long until SEO brings in physio bookings?
Most clinics see map pack movement in 60 to 90 days and condition pages ranking within 4 to 6 months. New clinics, new websites and inner-city suburbs take longer, and no honest agency promises a date.
Can my physios call themselves specialists?
Usually no. Physiotherapy has no specialist registration, so the board warns that "specialist" or "specialises in" is likely to mislead. Physios awarded the Specialist Physiotherapist credential by the Australian College of Physiotherapists can show it with the proper designation.
Should we have a page for every condition we treat?
Not every one. Start with the five to ten problems patients search for most and you see most often, each explaining how physiotherapy may help. A thin page for every condition is worse than a few strong ones.
Can we ask patients for Google reviews?
Yes. Ahpra says the testimonial rules don't stop patients posting reviews on review platforms, and you don't have to remove reviews on sites you don't control. What you can't do is use clinical reviews in your own advertising.
Does a physio clinic need SEO if most patients are referred?
Usually yes, on a smaller scale. Referred patients still check your reviews, hours and location online, and a strong profile keeps them from choosing a closer clinic. A lighter local plan often covers it.
Is it worth targeting "sports physio" searches?
Yes, if sports injuries are a real part of your caseload. "Sports physio" and "sports physio near me" add up to about 3,500 searches a month in Australia. Physiotherapy has no specialist registration, so the page should describe sports physiotherapy and your interest in it without specialist wording, unless a physio holds the Australian College of Physiotherapists' Specialist Physiotherapist credential.
Can our condition pages say physio fixes back pain?
No, not as a blanket promise. Ahpra expects advertising that lists conditions to explain how the treatment helps each one, backed by acceptable evidence. A back pain page should describe the assessment, the treatment approach and what patients can realistically expect, which also answers the questions people type into Google.
