Reviews win local customers
When someone searches for a plumber, café or dentist near them, Google shows a map with three businesses. Review count, rating and how recent your reviews are all play a part in who appears there, and they are the first thing people compare.
Most happy customers are willing to leave a review. They just don't think of it, or can't easily find where to do it. A QR code that opens your review form directly removes every step in between.
Where to put your review QR code
- At the counter or reception. A small stand-up card next to the payment terminal catches people at the happiest moment.
- On invoices and receipts. Add the QR code image to your invoice template so every customer sees it.
- In the van or on the job. Tradies can hand over a business card version when the job is done.
- By text, straight after the job. Use the ready-made message above. Asking within a few hours gets far more replies than a week later.
- In your email signature. Add a "Review us on Google" line using your direct link.
Google's review rules, in plain English
Breaking these can get reviews removed or your profile restricted, so it's worth knowing them.
Don't offer discounts, freebies or entries into a draw in exchange for reviews.
Ask all customers, not only the ones you expect to be happy. Filtering who gets asked is against the rules.
Never write reviews for yourself or ask staff, friends or family to review you.
