Trusted by Australian businesses

Each location page covers the full service for businesses in that market: website, content, links, AI search and reporting, built on the same core work as our SEO agency Australia campaigns. Where a city also has a local SEO page, it sits underneath, for businesses that mainly need Google Maps calls.

The main difference is that a location page covers the full SEO service for businesses in a city, while a local SEO page focuses on Google Maps, the map pack and your Google Business Profile in that city.
Regional cities without a separate local page, such as Newcastle or Geelong, cover both jobs on one page. If you’re unsure, start with the location page: every one of them explains when Maps work matters and hands you to our local SEO services when it does. Google’s own local ranking guide explains why the two need different work: map results lean on relevance, distance and prominence, while organic results depend far more on the website.
| Area | Location page (SEO in a city or state) | Local SEO page (Google Maps in a city) |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Firms that sell across a city, a state or nationally: professional services, B2B, online stores, multi-site brands | Businesses whose calls come from nearby: trades, clinics, salons, venues |
| Main search result | The ten organic results and AI answers | The map pack and Google Maps |
| Main work | Technical fixes, service and category pages, content, links, AI search visibility | Business Profile, reviews, citations, suburb pages, local links |
| What it measures | Enquiries, sales and non-brand clicks from the whole market | Calls, direction requests and a suburb-by-suburb rank grid |
| Typical keyword | “accountant perth”, “buy prams online”, “seo adelaide” | “plumber near me”, “dentist parramatta” |
Business owners rarely search for “location SEO”. They search for SEO plus their own city, so each market needs its own page with its own evidence.
“Location seo” draws about 50 searches a month in Australia. “Seo melbourne” draws 8,100. The regional numbers surprised us: the nine regional cities with their own page together draw about 6,790 searches a month, slightly more than “seo brisbane” on its own. That demand is why we wrote every page from research into that city rather than swapping the name. Google’s spam policies treat near-identical city pages as doorways, and the same rule applies to the location pages we build for clients.
| Search term | Monthly searches |

| seo melbourne | 8,100 |

The same core work in every city, with the research inside it changing with your market.
We’re based in Strathfield, Sydney, and we don’t have offices in other cities. Clients elsewhere work with us by video call, shared dashboards and a monthly review call. The method stays the same; the research inside it changes with your market.
After 90 days: the work continues month to month with no lock-in contract.
Send us your site and where your customers are. We’ll tell you where to start. No lock-in.
The right starting point depends on how far your customers travel to you, or how far you travel to them. Four common set-ups cover most of the businesses that contact us.
Industry often matters as much as city, so check SEO by industry too.
We don’t publish SEO results by city yet. Before you sign, we show you the research into your market, the plan and a sample report. See SEO pricing for what changes the cost, or start with SEO audit services if you’d like a one-off review.
Every account gets a dedicated team from day one, working from Sydney. Your SEO lead studies your city’s search results before the plan is written. Many clients pair search with Meta ads management from the same team.

“Humming Web completely transformed how we approach Facebook and Instagram advertising. Before working with them our ad spend felt like money down the drain, high cost per lead, low quality enquiries, and no real transparency from our previous agency.”
“Our social media went from an afterthought to our strongest brand asset. Content is original, on-brand, and actually looks professional. Engagement tripled in two months. Completely hands-off for us — they send the calendar, we approve it, done.”
“At $99/month I was sceptical. It seemed too cheap to be quality. I was completely wrong. The content looks better than what bigger agencies quoted us three times the price for. No templates, no stock photos — everything is made for our brand.”
“I'd tried two other agencies before Humming Web. This is the first time my Meta Ads have actually made me money. Transparent, fast to respond, and genuinely care about results. 5.2× ROAS in month two. Can't recommend enough.”
“We always knew our socials needed work but never had the time. Now it's completely hands-off. Monthly calendar, we approve, it goes live. Clear reporting. Completely stress-free and the content quality is excellent.”
“Finally an agency that speaks plain English. Weekly reports tell us exactly what's working — no vanity metrics, no jargon. Leads are up 3× compared to what we were getting before. Direct line to the campaign manager is a game changer.”
“Switched from a large agency where we were just another account number. The difference is night and day. Humming Web actually understand our business, suggest new ideas, and are proactive. Results have been consistent and improving each month.”
“The no lock-in thing was what got me to give it a try. Three months later I'm not going anywhere. Content is consistently on-brand, engagement is up, and it's genuinely one less thing I have to think about. Worth every cent.”
“We tried doing it ourselves for years. The content from Humming Web is miles ahead — professional, creative, and actually gets engagement. Setup was painless and they were posting within a week. No contract, no setup fee. Simple.”
Location SEO is search engine optimisation planned around a specific city or state, so your business shows up when customers there search. It covers pages written for that market, local competitor research, Google Business Profile work where it fits, and reporting on enquiries from that area.
The main difference is that a location page covers full-service SEO for a city, while a local SEO page focuses on Google Maps and the map pack. Choose the location page if you sell across a city or state, and the local page if most calls come from nearby searches.
No. Our only office is in Strathfield, in Sydney's inner west, and every location on this site is served from there. A business in Perth, Hobart or Cairns gets the same four-person team as a Sydney client, working over video and a shared monthly report, so your city changes the research we do, not the service you receive.
Humming Web charges between $1,000 and $5,000 a month in every city, and your location mainly decides where in that band you land. The real drivers are keyword difficulty in your market, the number of towns or services you need pages for, and whether you also compete nationally. Each location page shows real search demand so you can size your market before asking for a quote.
Start with the city that earns most of your revenue, then add pages for other cities where you have a real branch, staff or customers. Each page needs its own proof, so we build them in order of value rather than all at once.
Regional businesses often see first ranking movement within two to three months, because terms such as "seo townsville" (difficulty 8) and "seo bendigo" (difficulty 9) face far less competition than "seo perth" (43). Capital-city campaigns usually need six months or more. The age of your site and how much content we must build first also change the pace.
Yes, in the organic results, if you genuinely serve that city. The map pack is harder, because Google weighs distance from the searcher. We'll never use a virtual office or fake address to get around that.
No. SEO work happens on your website, your profiles and other sites, so it doesn't depend on where the team sits. What matters is research into your market, which is why each location page starts from that city's own data.
No. We build pages only where there's real search demand and something genuine to say, such as your work, reviews or staff in that area. Thin pages with a swapped place name can drag a whole site down.
It can, if each page repeats the same text with a new city name dropped in. Google's spam policies describe that pattern as doorway abuse. We avoid it by building every location page from research on that market: its own search demand, economy, ranking competitors and sample plan, so each page answers questions a business there genuinely has.
Send us your site and where your customers are. We’ll check it against that market’s results and tell you where to start.
