Who’s searching

One NDIS support,
three different searchers.

NDIS SEO is search engine optimisation for disability support providers: it puts your services in front of participants, families and coordinators on Google, Google Maps and AI answers, and gives each of them the facts they need to choose.

The participant

Searches by support and suburb, often on a phone.

“Can you help me, near me?”

What they need
Plain descriptions, accessible pages and an easy way to make contact.

A family member or carer

Researches on behalf of a son, daughter or parent.

“Can we trust you?”

What they need
About staff, safeguards, complaints and how service agreements work.

The support coordinator

Refers participants to providers who can take them.

“Can you take this referral?”

What they need
Registration status, support types, areas and current capacity, fast. A vague website gets skipped for one that answers.
The rule that shapes your SEO

How a participant’s plan decides
who can choose you.

Before anyone compares providers, the way their NDIS funding is managed has already narrowed the list. Your pages need to answer that question first.

Registration is required to deliver specialist disability accommodation (SDA), specialist behaviour support, supported independent living (SIL), plan management services, supports funded from NDIA-managed plans and NDIS digital platform services. This is why a page that never mentions registration or plan types loses enquiries it could have won: an NDIA-managed family can’t use an unregistered provider, and a self-managed participant may not realise they can use you.

Search demand

How people search
for NDIS providers.

Real monthly searches across Australia show two habits. People search by the support they need, and thousands start on the NDIA’s own Provider Finder, which the NDIA describes as a way to find registered providers.

Unregistered providers can’t lean on that tool, so Google, Maps and directories carry more of the load. Registered providers need both, because families check one against the other. Most of this work is local SEO services: one strong page per support, a Business Profile for each real office, and suburb pages only where you deliver.

Trust and compliance

The trust signals families
and coordinators look for.

Registered providers are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards and must meet conditions, including the NDIS Code of Conduct and complaints and incident systems. Show that work on your site, accurately.

General information, not legal advice. NDIS work sits within our SEO by industry service, alongside other care and health providers.

  • State your registration exactlyRegistered providers can link to their entry on the NDIS Provider Register. Unregistered providers should say so and explain which plan types they can serve. Never imply registration you don’t hold.
  • Show how you keep people safeWorker screening, your complaints process and how families raise concerns. These pages rarely rank on their own, but they win the comparison.
  • Publish capacity honestly“Taking new participants in these suburbs” or “waitlist open” saves a coordinator a call. Keep it current or remove it.
  • Keep claims accurateThe Australian Consumer Law applies to every provider. The ACCC’s guidance on false or misleading claims is a good test for any promise on your site.

NDIS SEO questions.

What is NDIS SEO?

NDIS SEO is search engine optimisation for disability support providers that helps participants, families and support coordinators find you on Google, Google Maps and AI search. It covers support and suburb pages, your Business Profile, directory listings, technical fixes and tracking of enquiries.

Do I need to be a registered NDIS provider to rank on Google?

No. Google doesn't rank providers on registration. But participants with NDIA-managed funding can only use registered providers, so every page should state your status and the plan types you accept. That stops wasted enquiries and wins the ones you can serve.

Can unregistered providers appear on the NDIS Provider Finder?

The NDIA describes its Provider Finder as a way to find registered providers, so unregistered providers rely more on Google, Maps, directories and referrals. That makes a clear website and Business Profile even more important for them.

How much does NDIS SEO cost?

NDIS SEO with Humming Web is scoped between $1,000 and $5,000 monthly. A provider offering one or two supports from a single office sits lower; one running SIL, community participation and several regions needs more support and suburb pages. Our SEO pricing page explains the factors. Local SEO starts from $780/month.

How long does SEO take for an NDIS provider?

Most NDIS providers see Business Profile and ranking movement in two to three months and steadier enquiries in six to twelve months. A new website, a crowded metro area or a site that needs rebuilding first will take longer.

Should we create a page for every suburb we serve?

No. Create suburb pages only where you genuinely deliver supports and can say something specific, such as staff, transport or local activities. Near-identical pages with the suburb swapped are treated by Google as doorway pages and rarely rank.

Can we share participant stories on our website?

It depends who delivers the support. If registered health practitioners such as occupational therapists or psychologists deliver it, Ahpra's ban on testimonials about clinical care applies. For other supports, get written consent, protect privacy and keep every claim accurate.

Is SEO or Google Ads better for NDIS providers?

The main difference is speed: Google Ads can put a new SIL vacancy in front of families this week, while SEO builds rankings for your core supports that keep bringing enquiries without paying per click. Many providers use ads for short-term gaps and SEO for steady demand.

Do you work with unregistered NDIS providers?

Yes. Unregistered providers can serve self-managed and plan-managed participants, and they depend on Google more than most. We make your status and plan types clear so the right participants contact you.

How do support coordinators look for NDIS providers?

A support coordinator is choosing on a participant's behalf, so they need facts they can check quickly. A clear page for each support, current availability by suburb, your registration status and the plan types you accept let them shortlist you without a phone call. Keep availability current or remove it.
